How does DeVry University approach the interview process?
DeVry University uses the college interview to determine your best choice of degree program, motivation for attending college (parents, peers, career) and if there are any roadblocks to attending and graduating (such as finances and past school history). To help arrive at those answers, we ask questions about the following:
- Career aspirations, including what interests you most and why.
- Employment plans, including where you work currently and if you plan to work while you attend school.
- Previous education, including high school graduation information, highest level of math completed, ACT/SAT scores if taken, classes you like most and least, types of classes you have taken and extracurricular activities involvement.
- Education goals, such as what motivated your interest in DeVry, who will help you make your college decision, what degree program you desire and why, what you're looking for in a college, what are your long-term goals, will you need housing assistance and is there anyone in your life who may prevent you from going to college.
- Financing information, including whether you have any financial plans in place to pay for college, if you have applied for any scholarships or grants, if your company offers tuition reimbursement, if you have ever applied for or considered applying for federal financial aid, and whether you have any other resources available to help you with educational expenses.
DeVry University is the right fit for many. The interview will help you and DeVry University determine if it's right for you.
